Set on a coastal block in Woonona, this home follows a coastal contemporary style — clean gable forms, glazed facades, a restrained palette of cream render, stone, and black metal.

Trailing plants spill over the upper balcony parapet in a thick, continuous band. Clipped, mounded shrubs line the entry path in tight, even rhythm, reinforcing the architecture’s sense of order rather than competing with it.

Around at the pool, palms and low shrubs build a gentler, more tropical layer — a shift in mood from the formal street front. And then there’s the bougainvillea: a single arch of magenta blooms climbing the window frame, the only real color in an otherwise neutral scene. It’s a small gesture, but it does the most work — against so much white, stone, and black metal, that one burst of color is what makes the eye stop.
